Gastronomy with the power to connect
Tepui is a platform dedicated to exploring the intersection between gastronomy, migration, and diaspora.
¡Hola, soy Gaby!
I'm passionate about discovering and sharing the stories that bring what we call gastronomy to life. I grew up in a family where gathering around the table was everything, but I never imagined it could become my career.
I studied communications, driven by my love for dialogue and content creation, which led me to build a strong career in corporate and digital communications. However, during the pandemic, I decided to fully embrace my true passion: I trained as a cook and had the opportunity to intern at a renowned restaurant in Washington, D.C., thinking it would be the start of a new life as a chef.
But instead of finding success in the kitchen, I realized that the daily grind wasn’t for me: long hours standing, repeating dishes over and over, with no room for my creativity. This experience allowed me to see beyond the served dishes and to understand the incredible world that exists behind every restaurant, with its stories, its cooks, and its role in preserving our traditions and family memories.
From that “failure,” Tepui was born—a space where, through writing, creative ideas, documentaries, and culinary content, we connect beyond what's on the plate.
